I bought these in combination with another set [ASIN: B00127OKJC - Reusable Grocery Tote Bags 6 Pack, Olive & Orange Contrast Trim Combo] and because they hold so much I gave some of them away as a gift.
They really are great for grocery shopping, and they hold a ton of stuff.
I've never needed more than 6 of them to do my shopping for the week, and usually only use about 4.

I bought these bags because they were more attractive than those sold by my grocery store and because they didn't have advertising logos. However, two of the bags split at the seems after only a few uses. Also, the insulated bags made by the same manufacturer are flat - they hold very little and do not have square bottoms - not so good for groceries.

I bought 2 sets of these bags for Mother's Day. 1 set for myself & 1 set I gave to my mom on Mother's Day. I was a bit worried that the bags wouldn't arrive on time for the holiday. They arrived the Friday before Mother's Day 2008. I was pleasantly surprised with the 2 added gifts, the Hot/Cold velcro closure bag & the pen. On Mother's Day, my mom & I chose our favorite colors from the 5 available. We use them all the time. I even use them to tote things back & forth from her house to mine or vice versa. My son uses 1 as an overnight bag when he stays with his grandma. Sometimes, I end up with all 10 bags, sometimes she does. Or we have just 1 or 2 to use & either 1 of us has the rest. It doesn't matter since we've been shopping together to save gas. I've had several people ask me where I got the bags & happily tell them where I found them. The bags hold more than I'd ever thought possible. My main problem with these bags is the plastic bottom. I've cracked 2 so far & have had to ductape them back together to continue using them. You will need 2 sets, though, if you get a half full or full grocery cart at the store. The additional purchase of a second set is well worth the money spent.

I bought these bags based on the several high ratings on amazon and I must admit, I am completely satisfied with them. They come in 5 different pleasing colors, look attractive, are cheap and come in very handy for your day-to-day grocery shopping. Everyone that visits me, makes it a point to compliment these bags and wants that I send them the link on amazon. The only one small drawback is that they could've been made slightly sturdier. But I just take care not to overload them beyond 10 lbs. My husband, who is a great proponent of eliminating plastics and who generally complains about my tendency to horde (unwanted!) stuff, is also very pleased with this buy. ;)
Moral of the story - if you care about the environment, think no further and click the Place your Order button now!

I contacted the manufacturer of these bags and found out that they are made in China, one of the worst polluters on the planet, not to mention one of the worst abusers of human rights. How is that "green"? Sure, you'll not be needing any of those flimsy, reusable, multi-use plastic bags they give out at the grocery store, but what are you supporting?
How about some "U.S. economy-friendly" products, Amazon? They would help our world, and our country, more than any unethically subsidized ChiCom product. The United States is one of the world's largest developers of green technology, so any help we can give to our economy can help our entire world. Buy more "Made in the USA" to save the planet.
